Flight Instruction

Discovery Flight
Experience the freedom of flying from the water. Perfect for pilots or first-time flyers who want to see what seaplane flying is all about. You’ll fly along the river and surrounding countryside with an experienced instructor, learn how a seaplane operates, and even take the controls if you’d like. No experience required for a unique and unforgettable adventure.

Single Engine Seaplane
Add a Single-Engine Seaplane (SES) Rating to your Private or Commercial pilot certificate and trade runways for water. Explore rivers and lakes in our Cessna 172 on floats while learning the skills that make seaplane flying one of aviation’s most rewarding experiences. The course includes all required training materials and 10 hours of personalized flight instruction with an experienced seaplane instructor.
You’ll master normal and glassy-water takeoffs and landings, docking and boat handling, sailing techniques, water safety, and seaplane-specific regulations and decision-making. Training is tailored to your experience level and typically completed in just a few days. No prior seaplane time is required—just a pilot certificate, a current medical, and a curiosity for a different kind of flying.

TAILWHEEL ENDORSEMENT
Tailwheel training is our newest addition at Goodspeed. Its a great way to expand both your skills and the types of flying you can do. With a tailwheel endorsement, you can fly aircraft from shorter runways, grass strips, and more remote airfields. Tailwheel flying teaches precise control, improves your skills in takeoffs, landings, and crosswinds, and gives you a deeper understanding of how an airplane responds to your inputs.

ADVANCED TRAINING
Take your piloting skills to the next level with Goodspeed Seaplane’s advanced training program. Designed for experienced pilots looking to sharpen their skills, rusty pilots looking to rebuild confidence, or those preparing for a flight review, this program offers hands-on instruction in a variety of aircraft, including the Cessna 172, the 172 on floats, and Citabria.
